In the halls of the former convention center Tamerici Spa, 108 paintings and 30 drawings rebuild the relationship with the universe of female painter from Ferrara, one of the most important figures of the nineteenth century Italian, a unique exhibition for beauty and scientific value, which also includes 60 photographs original and unpublished, in addition to hitherto unpublished letters and original documentary material.


In addition, 18 works of De Nittis Zandomeneghi, Picabia, Corcos, Helleu, Signorini and Banti.


From September 18 to December 30, 2008, Montecatini Terme Art will host an unmissable event. In the historic rooms of the former convention center Tamerici Spa will host the show BOLDINI MON AMOUR, dedicated to one of the undisputed protagonists of Italian and European late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

Promoted by the Culture and by the Department of Tourism in Montecatini Terme, the exhibition, curated by Tiziano Panconi, the most expert on the work of Giovanni Boldini - that must be the catalog of the works published in 2002 - will rebuild the relationship with the female population of the Ferrarese painter, oil on canvas by 108, the most representative of its production and 30 drawings on paper, from the most prestigious public collections, such as Boldini Museum of Ferrara, the Uffizi Gallery in Florence , Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Palazzo Pitti in Florence, the GAM of Milan, the Museo di Capodimonte in Naples, the Civic Museums of Pavia, Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, the Museo d'Arte Moderna in Lugano, the Villa Museum Belgaum Bonaparte in Milan, Palermo GAM) and the most important private collections.

The course will also present 18 masterpieces of De Nittis Zandomeneghi, Picabia, Corcos, Helleu, Signorini, Banti, in addition to 60 original photographs and unpublished letters hitherto unpublished documentary material and original painter from Ferrara.

Giovanni Boldini (Ferrara 1842 - Paris 1931)

Giovanni Boldini starts from an early age to work under the guidance of his father and painter, having joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence in 1862, comes into contact with the entourage of the painters who attend the so-called Macchiaioli Caffè Michelangelo. Boldini's fame, however, is mainly linked to the famous portraits which comes after the experience macchiaola. Important at this stage stay in Castiglioncello.

In 1867 he went to Paris for the first time at the Universal Exposition in Paris where he attended the fair society and lives with his artist friends in long walks on the banks of the Seine.

After a brief stay in London, Boldini settled permanently in Paris in 1871 and became the undisputed and contesissimo portrait of the beautiful and noble women of the city.
